Prime Picks

Throwdown With Bobby Flay (Food Network): Repeat. Bobby competes in a “Deep Dish Pizza” battle. Plays again later.
Throwdown with Bobby Flay (Food Network): New. Bobby competes in a “Vegetable Lasagna” competition in Philadelphia.

Modern Family (ABC): New. Claire is trying to keep the peace between Alex and Haley. Phil takes off for a secret day at the spa. Runs 31 minutes.
Mr. Sunshine (ABC): New. Ben tries to learn his employees’ names to try and get them to like him, but things don’t go according to plan. Starts a minute after the half hour and runs 29 minutes. I think I’m officially done with this show after this episode, although I did laugh twice. That just happens to be twice as many times as last week, which was one more than the first episode. So, at least I can say it’s trending upwards, but it’s way too slow a trek.

Justified (FX): New. Raylan is helping to track down Rachel’s brother-in-law after he attacks someone at the halfway house. Boyd listens to a potentially dangerous offer from some guys that could use his expertise. Runs 61 minutes. Plays twice and again later. It’s a great episode that expands some on the storyline involving Mags and the Bennett family, but mainly focuses on Erica Tazel’s Marshal Rachel Brooks. Giving you some background on her and her family.

Solid Selections

The Middle (ABC): New. Frankie and Mike question a teachers teaching skills and then get invited to take a class from her.
Better With You (ABC): New. Casey’s ex wants the couch he borrowed from her when they were still together.

Criminal Minds (CBS): New. Prentiss is worried about the team after an old nemesis looks to be behind a string of murders.

Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior (CBS): New. The team is off to Arizona to investigate when a message is sent to authorities after two recent murders. The first two episodes were terrible and not too optimistic that the third one will be the charm. Have you been watching? What do you think of the show so far?

Other Options

  • Hot in Cleveland (TV Land): New. Joy may have met a great guy. Victoria attempts to get her career underway. Plays again later. TV Land has picked the show up for a third season.

I have not watched the Criminal Minds spinoff. I have recorded them but I am still mad that they got rid of JJ and now Emily on Criminal Minds and then started a new show. I had always enjoyed Criminal Minds not only of the criminals they searched for but the “family” of different people. Who all had different strength but came togather as a team. Since the lose of JJ the family part seems to have changed. I did not get that feeling when Ell or Jason had left.
