News & Notes
This is the 2000th “Tonight on the Tube” post. Not consecutively, but pretty darn close. The first one was posted 2017 days ago on Sept. 13th, 2005.
Tonight, ABC has a Best in Film: The Greatest Movies of Our Time special.
Over on cable, BBC America has a Prince William & Prince Harry: Into the Future special, OWN has the first season finale of Our America With Lisa Ling, Planet Green has the second season premiere of The Fabulous Beekman Boys, Syfy has the fourth spring season premiere of Destination Truth and the series premiere of Marcel’s Quantum Kitchen, and truTV has the series premiere of Big Brian: The Fortune Seller.
Glee and Raising Hope return with new episodes on April 19th.
Prime Picks
NCIS (CBS): New. Vance wants Gibbs to interrogate a teenager accused of shooting his Marine father.
NCIS: Los Angeles (CBS): New. When a Navy Intelligence officer goes missing while keeping tabs on a Venezuelan politician, the team starts to investigate.
The Good Wife (CBS): New. The firm is representing Lemond Bishop in a divorce, even though he doesn’t want to get one. Kalinda gets a grand jury subpoena. Glad it’s back, it seems like this has been off forever.
Solid Selections
No Ordinary Family (ABC): New. Mrs. X sends an animal like supervillain after the Powells. Katie finds something out about Joshua. JJ starts to really question his teacher’s intentions. The next new episode plays this Saturday, March 26th instead of next Tuesday and then the season finale plays on Tuesday, April 5th.
Raising Hope (FOX): Repeat. The “Blue Dots” episode replays, where Jimmy tries to get Hope into a good daycare, but must try to clean up Burt’s record to do so. Starts a minute after the hour and runs 30 minutes.
Lights Out (FX): New. Lights tries to give some help to a drunken former boxing champ. Plays twice and again later.
Other Options
- Marcel’s Quantum Kitchen (Syfy): Series Premiere. Marcel’s new catering company is hired by the Wildlife Waystation to cater a fundraising event for them. Plays again later. If you like cooking shows, then you’ll probably like this one. It plays very similar to something like Dinner: Impossible on Food Network, but the twist here is that Marcel like to use lots of gadgets and scientific properties to create cool dishes that match the theme of the party he is catering. Like for instance the “Tiger’s Breath” he makes in this episode using liquid nitrogen. He made something similar for a group of us last Fall down in Orlando at the Syfy Press Tour event. You eat this little bite of dessert, but when you exhale it’s like your standing outside in the freezing cold.
- What Not to Wear (TLC): New. Two new episodes play tonight. Both play again later.
Sports Notes
- ESPN has doubleheader quarterfinal NIT college basketball tournament action.
