Prime Picks
Mike & Molly (CBS): Repeat. The series premiere episode replays.
Rules of Engagement (CBS): Repeat. The “Surro-gate” episode from this past season replays, where Jeff and Audrey find out something surprising about their surrogate.
Franklin & Bash (TNT): Series Premiere. Two childhood buddies now partners in their own law firm and get results with their theatrical antics in the courtroom. The head of a big firm has taken notice and offers them a place at his staunch firm, which leads to a clash of cultures. Plays again later. I thoroughly enjoyed the first three episodes of this series. Given Mark-Paul Gosselaar’s previous lawyer outing, I wasn’t expecting much, but this is nothing like Raising the Bar. This show leans more towards the Boston Legal side of the legal show spectrum, yet not quite as out there or as political. It’s just a fun sit back and relax summer show. This premiere episode does a good job of establishing the characters, relationships and the world in which they live. It’s close, but can’t quite recommend it over its Royal Pains timeslot rival come June 29th. Yet, I’ll be watching both this summer.
Men of a Certain Age (TNT): Summer Premiere. Joe is hanging out with his former bookie. Terry and Erin take a step forward in their relationship. Owen gets an offer for the dealership. Runs 61 minutes. Plays again later. Great episode. They have really figure this show and characters out. While it moves along at a slow pace, it still provides some of the funniest moments on TV amidst all the drama. On the drama side tonight, the Terry storyline is heartbreaking given where he has come to in his life.
Other Option
- MythBusters (Discovery Channel): New. Can you jump out of the way of a bullet? The guys test it out. Plays again later.
