The Glades (A&E): New. A serial killer from Chicago may be at work and Jim ends up having to work with his old partner, who just happens to be a good looking female detective he may have had more than a working relationship with. Plays twice and again later twice. Still a couple days left to enter to win one of two copies of The Glades S.1 on DVD.

Solid Selections

The Simpsons (FOX): Repeat. “The Great Simpsina” episode from this past season replays, where Lisa becomes a magician’s assistant. Runs 30 minutes.

Law & Order: Criminal Intent (USA Network): New. The detectives are looking for a philanthropist that goes missing after he announces the winner of a research grant. Plays again later.

In Plain Sight (USA Network): New. A witness must learn to adjust to life in Albuquerque after living in an Amish community. Plays again later.

  • The Protector (Lifetime): Series Premiere. Ally Walker (Sons of Anarchy, The Profiler) plays Det. Gloria Sheppard. She is raising her two sons with the help of her brother. The case involves a mugging that looks like it may be something more. Plays twice. This is a solid detective procedural with a family drama element. Walker is good playing both detective and mom. In her work life, she is the smart go her own way detective that doesn’t care what anyone thinks. At home she is the caring mother that will do anything to keep her children happy and safe. I enjoyed the episode and will continue to watch.
  • Treme (HBO): New. Delmond gives a pitch for his project. Toni gets a private investigator. Janette is thinking about moving. Plays again later.
