On cable tonight, BBC America has the series premiere of 24 Hours in the ER, MTV has a Teen Mom special, and TLC has the fifth fall season premiere of 19 Kids & Counting and the fourth fall season premiere of The Little Couple special.

In late night, MTV has the first season finale of Awkward.

NCIS (CBS): New. The team finds out something shocking in the past of a Marine that was stabbed fatally.

New Girl (FOX): New. The guys try to help Jess get her stuff back from the guy she was living with and we meet the new roommate. Starts a minute after the hour and runs 30 minutes. Did not find this second episode as charming or nearly as funny as last week’s premiere.
Raising Hope (FOX): New. Burt finds something out about Sabrina and tells the family. Everyone meets Sabrina’s father. Starts a minute after the half hour and runs 29 minutes.

Sons of Anarchy (FX): New. SAMCRO is setting up a new business venture. Gemma makes a new ally in Charming. Runs 61 minutes. Plays twice and again later with last week’s episode, “Booster,” in between.

Glee (FOX): New. Mr. Schuester runs a boot camp for some members of the glee club. Runs 61 minutes.

Ringer (The CW): New. Bridget finds out something about Andrew that creates tension. Agent Machado continues to look for Bridget. This show needs to improve quickly or it faces being dropped off the list entirely.

Parenthood (NBC): New. Amber is enjoying her independence. Crosby wonders how Jasmine will be once she starts dating again. Zeek gives Drew some dating advice.

• Body of Proof (ABC): New. The young wife of a rich tycoon is shot during a hunting trip.
• Chopped Champions (Food Network): New. Previous winners return to compete again. Plays again later.
• NCIS: Los Angeles (CBS): New. The team is helping the NSA determine who is behind a cyberattack on the Department of Defense.
• Unforgettable (CBS): New. Carrie helps the police with a young boy that witnessed a murder.
