The Simpsons (FOX): New. The boys decide to hold the school hostage until a teacher is rehired. Runs 30 minutes.
The Good Wife (CBS): New. Alicia’s case is being retried in Britain via satellite and she must quickly learn English law.
Homeland (Showtime): Series Premiere. A CIA officer finds that some intelligence she had gotten months earlier may be legit after an American soldier is found alive after a raid. He had been held for eight years. Plays again later. This show is the reason why I have Showtime, as it is absolutely outstanding television. I’ve seen the first three episodes and I’m totally on board. The best part is that I have no idea where it is going, but the journey thus far is highly compelling. Damian Lewis is doing great work and Claire Danes may just be doing the best work of her career. Both of the main two characters and those that surround them suck you in and I can’t wait to see more of this one.
Challenge (Food Network): Repeat. Four pumpkin carvers compete to create the most outrageous carvings. Plays again later.
Dexter (Showtime): Season Premiere. Dexter attends his 20th high school reunion, but one of his former classmates may end up on his table. Plays again later. I like the Dexter and Rita side of the story, but the big murder case of the season gets setup very slowly. Even after next week, I’m not exactly sure what the deal is.
Pan Am (ABC): New. Maggie deals with an aggressive passenger. Dean tries to find information about Bridget. Starts a minute after the hour and runs 59 minutes.
