On cable tonight, A&E has the sixth fall season premiere of Gene Simmons Family Jewels, Animal Planet has the series premiere of Viking Wilderness, Bravo has the series premiere of Mad Fashion and the series premiere of Fashion Hunters, Discovery Channel has the first season finale of Carfellas, IFC has the second season premiere of Onion News Network, Travel Channel has the series premiere of Made in America, the second season premiere of Mysteries at the Museum and the first fall season premiere of Off Limits, and truTV has the fourth season finale of Hardcore Pawn.

NCIS (CBS): New. There may be a connection between McGee’s grandmother and the death of a Navy man.

New Girl (FOX): New. Nick asks Jess to pretend to be his girlfriend at a wedding, cause he is afraid of running into an ex solo. Starts a minute after the hour and runs 30 minutes. Fantastic episode with a great opening scene and plenty of wacky fun.
Raising Hope (FOX): New. A man that had kidnapped Burt 20 years ago visits. Jimmy is making Sabrina uncomfortable. Starts a minute after the half hour and runs 29 minutes.

Sons of Anarchy (FX): New. SAMCRO seeks help from a former foe to help stop Charming Heights. Runs 63 minutes. Plays twice and again later.

Solid Selections

Glee (FOX): New. Emma is surprised with a visit by her parents. Mike Chang is dealing with pressure from his father and all his activities. Runs 61 minutes. This episode actually works pretty well. The music helps tell the story and stuff like that, but I just don’t care anymore. I had given up on the show near the end of last season and nothing in the first three episodes has convinced me to jump back on board.

Ringer (The CW): New. Bridget is off to the Hamptons with Andrew, Henry and Gemma.

Parenthood (NBC): New. Zeek gets an acting job. Crosby and Adam have a disagreement. Drew’s first date doesn’t workout how he had hoped.

Other Options

• Body of Proof (ABC): New. A nanny gets rundown and the child she was watching is kidnapped. Starts a minute after the hour and runs 59 minutes.
• Chopped Champions (Food Network): New. Previous winners return to compete again. Plays again later.
• NCIS: Los Angeles (CBS): New. Hunter switches things up for the team as they are searching for stolen explosives.
