Find Sons of Anarchy Season 3 on DVD at AmazonTonight, ABC has the series premiere of Last Man Standing and PBS has the ninth season finale of History Detectives and the 30th season premiere of Frontline.

Over on cable, BET has the Hip Hop Music Awards ‘11 and the series premiere of Reed Between the Lines, Cooking Channel has the second season premiere of Eat St., the third season finale of Food(ography) and the second season finale of United Tastes of America, DIY has the third season premiere of I Hate My Kitchen, and MTV has the second season premiere of I Used to Be Fat.

In late night, MTV has the series premiere of Chelsea Settles.

NCIS (CBS): New. A Navy lieutenant commander is targeted by a contract assassin and the team investigates.

Ringer (The CW): New. Gemma needs a favor. Henry gets some bad news regarding his writing career. Andrew’s relationship with his daughter remains difficult.

Sons of Anarchy (FX): New. An important package is compromised and the club is put in a bad spot with the cartel. Runs 61 minutes. Plays twice and again later.

Solid Selections

Last Man Standing (ABC): Series Premiere. Tim Allen returns to TV in a new sitcom that is very similar to his last one. In this one he works at an outdoors store and has three daughters. It premieres tonight with two episodes, which makes for a solid hour that will probably do well. It falls somewhere near the bottom of the top half of new sitcoms this fall.

NCIS: Los Angeles (CBS): New. Hetty finally lets Callen in on some of his past. Runs 61 minutes.

Parenthood (NBC): New. Krisitna gets some unexpected help. Sarah’s ex returns.

Other Options

  • Body of Proof (ABC): New. A body presumed dead gets up and walks away, but leads them to an even more shocking discovery. Starts a minute after the hour and runs 59 minutes.
  • Chopped Champions (Food Network): New. Previous winners return to compete again. Plays again later.

Sports Note

  • FOX has Game 3 of the ALCS with the Texas Rangers at the Detroit Tigers.
