Prime Picks

NCIS (CBS): New. The team must protect the pregnant significant other of a Navy captain after he is murdered.

New Girl (FOX): New. Everyone attends the holiday party at Schmidt’s office. Jess isn’t sure what to make of a very expensive gift from Paul.
Raising Hope (FOX): New. Jimmy gets a look at what his life would have been like had he never met Hope’s mother. The show gets the It’s a Wonderful Life treatment and works pretty well for the most part.

Flashpoint (ION): New. The team responds after a masked gunman terrorizes a group of teenagers. Plays again later.

Solid Selections

Last Man Standing (ABC): New. Mandy tries to help Ed keep his favorite barbershop open. Runs 30 minutes.

NCIS: Los Angeles (CBS): New. A device stolen from a college research laboratory and the team is searching for it.

Unforgettable (CBS): New. A ghost hunter is murdered and Carrie and Al are on the case.

Other Options

  • Rizzoli & Isles (TNT): Repeat. Last night’s episode, “Seventeen Ain’t So Sweet,” replays.
  • Good Morning, Killer (TNT): Premiere. Catherine Bell (Army Wives) plays an FBI agent tracking a kidnapper while at the same time getting closer to one of his victims. Also stars Titus Welliver (The Good Wife), Cole Hauser (Chase) and Suleka Mathew (HawthoRNe). Runs two hours. Plays again later. So far these TNT Mystery Movie Night flicks have been watchable, but pretty lackluster overall. This one continues that trend of taking well liked actors, a known mystery novel property and turning them into a slow paced thriller that doesn’t really live up to either and provides few thrills. I had been looking forward to this series of movies after they were first announced, but the whole series has been thus far disappointing. I expect more from TNT.

Late Night

  • Psych (USA Network): Repeat. Last Wednesday’s episode, “The Tao of Gus,” replays.
