Prime Picks

Community (NBC): Repeat. Last season’s Christmas episode, “Abed’s Uncontrollable Christmas,” replays.
Rules of Engagement (CBS): New. Audrey and Jeff are battling over an armchair that neither of them likes.

Person of Interest (CBS): New. Det. Carter is dealing with the fallout after encountering Reece. Reece and Finch go to work after the machine spits out four Social Security numbers at the same time.

Burn Notice (USA Network): Season Finale. Things reach a breaking point with Anson. Pearce puts Michael in charge of a large mission. Sam and Fiona are working reconnaissance. Guest stars include Dean Cain (Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman), Kristanna Loken (Painkiller Jane) and Eric Roberts (Heroes). Plays again later. Fantastic finish to season five and as per usual given the way it ends, I wish we didn’t have to wait until the summer to see where they pick up the story. I think Jere Burns has by far made the best big bad on this show. What do you think?

Solid Selections

A Charlie Brown Christmas (ABC): Repeat. The classic animated holiday special replays.

Bones (FOX): Repeat. Last season’s The Finder backdoor pilot episode, “Finder,” replays. The Finder premieres on January 12th following an all new episode of Bones, which will be the last one for a few weeks. If you like Bones, then you will probably enjoy the new spin-off series.

The Mentalist (CBS): New. Jane suffers amnesia after a beating and reverts back to his old con man persona.

Other Option

  • Prime Suspect (NBC): New. Jane and Blando are looking into the murder of a diamond dealer. Matt has gotten a new job.

I would have watched Finder a couple years ago before crappy writing and overt product placement made Bones becomes less and less my priority watching. If Finder promises more of that – I’m out. Sidenote: House is starting to do the beat you over the head product placement now…

Seth, Yeah, not a fan of poorly done product placement either, but with more and more people not watching ads it’s not going to go away. While I haven’t liked how they’ve handled aspects of Bones over the last couple seasons, I still enjoy the episodes. The Finder has the same fun vibe as Bones.
