Prime Picks
Switched at Birth (ABC Family): New. John and Kathryn decide to invite Angelo over for dinner. Emmett moves in with his father. Plays again later. Last week’s episode, “Les Soeurs d’Estrees,” replays right before.
New Girl (FOX): New. Nick feels in a weird place relationship-wise with Julia, played by guest star Lizzy Caplan (Party Down). Jess goes to Julia for help getting out of a ticket. Schmidt is having problems with his shower towel. Runs 31 minutes. I love the back and forth between Julia and Jess in this episode. Also, the towel bit has a very Friends payoff.
Raising Hope (FOX): New. Burt becomes obsessed with gambling and Jimmy and Virginia try to stop him, but things don’t work out well for them. Starts a minute after the half hour and runs 29 minutes.
Justified (FX): New. Raylan ends up on a collision course with the new head of the Dixie Mafia. Boyd begins to implement his plan, which includes getting back part of his family’s empire. Plays twice and again later. Last week’s episode, “Cut Ties,” replays in late night as well. You start to see what the problems Raylan is going to face this season are in this episode.
Other Options
- Jane by Design (ABC Family): New. Jane is tasked with taking an important item to Paris. Plays again later. Last week’s episode, “The Finger Bowl,” replays earlier this evening.
- Ringer (The CW): New. Bridget is throwing a fundraiser for a friend and Juliet’s school. Siohban sees how easily Bridget has assumed her life. Malcolm starts working for Andrew.
- Southland (TNT): New. Sammy leaves some gang territory unattended and a violent gang war erupts. Ben is dealing with his recent mistake. Cooper and Tang get a robbery call. Plays again later.
- White Collar (USA Network): New. Elizabeth gets curious about her new neighbors and may have uncovered something. Plays again later. Last week’s episode, “Upper West Side Story,” replays earlier in the morning. Tiffani Thiessen gets more screen time, which is never a bad thing, as Elizabeth gets involved and drives the case of the week. This continues the streak of great/fun episodes for the final half of this season.
