News & Notes

Download The Grimm S.2 Episodes via Amazon Instant VideoTonight, ABC has the third season finale of Bachelor Pad, CBS has their CBS Fall Preview, FOX has the 10th season finale of Hell’s Kitchen and the third season finale of MasterChef, and NBC has the third season premiere of The Voice and the series premiere of The New Normal.

Over on cable, A&E has the sixth season premiere of Hoarders.

Grimm was originally scheduled to have a new episode tonight and then move to Fridays as of Sept. 21st, but NBC has juggled their schedule a bit and will not air it tonight and it will now begin its runs on Fridays as of Sept. 28th.

Prime Picks

Alphas (Syfy): New. The team gets some evidence about Parish’s evil plans. A young Alpha shows a very deadly ability. Plays again later two times.

Warehouse 13 (Syfy): New. Pete and Myka are dealing with an inquisitive drug company executive. Artie, Steve and Claudia try to track down Brother Adrian. Plays again later.

Perception (TNT): New. Pierce gets tipped off to the potential cover up of the murder of a U.S. Senator. Plays again later.

Other Options

  • Go On (NBC): Repeat. The series premiere episode, “Pilot,” replays. Runs 30 minutes. It begins playing on its regular night tomorrow night with a new episode. I really liked this episode and look forward to seeing more from the show going forward.
  • The L.A. Complex (The CW): New. Kal asks Abby to record some backup vocals for his new album. Nick gets fired and Sabrina shows some compassion. Connor gets some big news.
  • Major Crimes (TNT): New. The squad is being pressured during a kidnapping case. Plays again later. Last week’s episode, “The Ecstasy and the Agony,” replays right before.
  • The New Normal (NBC): Series Premiere. A single waitress with a young daughter decides to take off for California and ends up agreeing to become a surrogate for Bryan and David. Runs 30 minutes. It begins playing on its regular night tomorrow night with another new episode. This is somehow getting relatively good reviews and maybe it will get better, but based on this first episode I didn’t find it very funny. It is way over the top in all the ways that many complained about Two Broke Girls last season.
  • Switched at Birth (ABC Family): New. Regina’s quickie marriage to Angelo creates some problems back at home. Daphne and Emmett enter their zombie flick in a film festival. The previous two episodes replay right before.

Sports Notes

  • CBS has coverage of the U.S. Open Tennis men’s championship.
  • ESPN has doubleheader Monday Night Football action with the Cincinnati Bengals at the Baltimore Ravens followed by the San Diego Chargers at the Oakland Raiders.
  • MLB Network has a game tonight.
