Prime Picks

The Middle (ABC): Season Premiere. Mike mistakenly lets it be known that he has a favorite child. Brick is attempting to grow a gigantic tomato. Sue is trying to get her dad to do some activities with her. Runs 60 minutes. This show will drop down to Solid Selections in two weeks when Arrow premieres on Oct. 10th.

Modern Family (ABC): Season Premiere. Phil and Jay go on a weird fishing trip. Gloria is trying to figure out how to tell Jay she is pregnant. Cam and Mitchel are discussing getting a cat. Runs 31 minutes.
The Neighbors (ABC): Series Premiere. A couple and their children move into a new neighborhood that is full of aliens that have separated themselves from the human population. Starts a minute after the half hour and runs 29 minutes. This show moves to before Modern Family next week and Suburgatory premieres in this timeslot in three weeks on Oct. 17th. I didn’t find this show funny and the second episode isn’t any better. It may be weird to say, but too many things didn’t make sense for the humor they are attempting to do. It seems to be the winner of this year’s ill-conceived and poorly executed prize.

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (CBS): Season Premiere. The team is looking for the abducted granddaughter of D.B.

Solid Selections

Animal Practice (NBC): New. Dorothy works at improving relations with the staff. Angela is selling Dr. Rizzo’s art work.
Guys With Kids (NBC): New. Nick tells Chris that he has history with his new girlfriend. Gary forgets his anniversary.

Criminal Minds (USA Network): Season Premiere. The team welcomes a new member while tracking an escaped prisoner that is leaving dead bodies in his wake. Starts a minute after the hour and runs 59 minutes.

Revenge: The First Chapter (ABC): New Special. Relive some of the highlights of season one and get a preview of season two, which premieres this Sunday. Basically it’s a clip show to get you ready or try and catch you up.

Other Options

  • Copper (BBC America): Repeat. This past Sunday’s episode, “Arsenic & Old Cake,” replays.
  • Key & Peele (Comedy Central): Season Premiere. Sketches include Obama in college, Civil War reenactment, and Jesus meets a pimp. Runs 30 minutes.
