Over on cable, Cooking Channel has the third season finale of Extra Virgin, FX has the series premiere of The Americans, Spike TV has the fourth season premiere Auction Hunters and the second season premiere of Savage Family Diggers, and Travel Channel has a Tailgate Takeover: Super Bowl special.

Prime Picks

Arrow (The CW): New. Oliver goes after the dealer that is supplying Vertigo after his sister gets caught having used the drug. Laurel takes Thea’s case. Felicity finds some news about Moira.

Modern Family (ABC): Repeat. The “When a Tree Falls” episode from earlier this season replays. Runs 31 minutes.
Suburgatory (ABC): New. Dallas tries to get some help for a seemingly depressed Yakult. The Shays want Tessa to help them set Lisa up on a date. Starts a minute after the half hour and runs 29 minutes.

The Americans (FX): Series Premiere. The story follows a married couple, played by Keri Russell (Felicity) and Matthew Rhys (Brothers & Sisters), who are KGB spies living in the U.S. as an average American family and those that are tasked with searching for these types of spies in the early 1980s as Ronald Reagan has just been elected president. Runs 97 minutes. Plays again later twice. This is a very intriguing premise and this opening episode sets things up quite well with fantastic performances by Russell and Rhys. This easily jumps into the top handful of new shows this TV season and is definitely worth checking out. Will you be watching tonight?

Whitney (NBC): New. An ex of Whitney wants to make amends. R.J. has a theory for Roxanne. Runs 30 minutes.

Supernatural (The CW): New. A man claiming to be a Winchester comes to Sam and Dean looking for John Winchester. The brothers learn more about their family history.

Necessary Roughness (USA Network): New. Danny takes on a pair of famous rockers as new patients. TK is trying to navigate the new situation on the team. Everyone is getting used to having Juliette as the new owner. Plays again later.

Sports Notes

  • ESPN has doubleheader NBA action with the Miami Heat at the Brooklyn Nets followed by the Los Angeles Lakers at the Phoenix Suns.
  • ESPN2 has doubleheader college basketball action with Villanova at Notre Dame followed by Texas at Kansas State.

Late Night

  • Being Human (Syfy): Repeat. This past Monday night’s episode, “The Teens They Are a Changin,” replays.
  • White Collar (USA Network): Repeat. Last night’s episode, “Brass Tracks,” replays.
