Over on cable, Sundance has the series premiere of The Returned.

- Grey’s Anatomy (ABC): New. Doctors have to deal with some patients in costumes that make things difficult. Derek and Ben are working on a new technique for surgery. Richard angers Bailey.
- Parenthood (NBC): New. Joel and Julia are trying to keep it together. Adam and Kristina go to the family for help during the campaign.
- The Returned (Sundance): Series Premiere. French series about a small mountain community where people who have died reappearing in their homes. Plays again later. I’ve heard only good things about this series. Some have dubbed it the French zombie show, but from what I’ve heard that is a terrible description for the show.
- Scandal (ABC): New. Olivia and Mellie run into each other at an event. Jake and Huck continue to investigate Operation Remington.
- Strike Back: Origins (Cinemax): Repeat. Last Friday night’s season premiere episode replays.

- ESPN has doubleheader Thursday Night College Football action with South Florida at Houston followed by Arizona State at Washington State.
- FS1 has college football action with Rice at North Texas.
