Over on cable, CNBC has the series premiere of The Filthy Rich Guide and FX has the second season finale of The Bridge.

In late night, MTV has the third season premiere of Girl Code.

The Middle (ABC): New. Frankie and Mike are searching for second jobs. Sue and Brad set out to create a meaningful play for the school.
The Goldbergs (ABC): New. Adam goes out for the school musical. Barry doesn’t like that Murray always wants to leave sporting events early to beat the traffic.

Modern Family (ABC): New. Jay and Gloria are having trouble choosing gifts for each other for their anniversary. Runs 31 minutes.
black-ish (ABC): New. Dre decides it is time to give “the talk” to Andre and ends up having to answer all kinds of questions. Starts a minute after the hour and runs 29 minutes.

The Bridge (FX): Season Finale. Eleanor wants some closure and Marco has his loyalty tested. Runs 65 minutes. Plays twice and again later.

Solid Selections

Arrow (The CW): Repeats. The Barry Allen two-parter, “The Scientist” and “Three Ghosts,” replays. Season three premieres next week and The Flash premieres next Tuesday.

Franklin & Bash (TNT): New. Franklin and Bash attempt to help a friend with a problem at a retirement community. Karp and Anita try to help a scientist keep an important grant. Starts a minute after the hour and runs 61 minutes. Plays again later.

Other Options

  • Criminal Minds (CBS): Season Premiere. The BAU team heads to Bakersfield, CA to investigate a case where the victims can’t be identified. New agent Kate Callahan, played by Jennifer Love Hewitt, joins the team.
  • The Knick (Cinemax): Repeat. This past Friday’s episode, “Get the Rope,” replays.
  • Legends (TNT): New. Martin goes undercover as a member of the press to find the assassin. Runs 61 minutes. Plays again later.
  • Masters of Sex (Showtime): Repeat. This past Sunday’s second season finale episode, “The Revolution Will Not Be Televised,” replays.
  • Nashville (ABC): New. Will’s album hits the number one spot. So, Rayna steps up her publicity. Deacon finds out how rebellious Maddie can be.
  • Stalker (CBS): Series Premiere. Detectives of the LAPD’s Threat Assessment Unit investigate stalking complaints. Stars Dylan McDermott (The Practice) and Maggie Q (Nikita). This seems to be the most hated show among many TV critics. All I’ll say is that if you likeCriminal Minds, you’ll like Stalker.

  • ESPN has the San Francisco Giants at the Pittsburgh Pirates in the NL Wild Card Game tonight.
