Listen to the latest TV times Three Podcast: Ep.274, “Good Orphan Revenge Theory.” On this episode I am joined by Amrie of @mytakeontv and @CarlaDay of @TVDiehard to talk about all the recent cancellations and renewals. Then we take a look at the season finales of The Big Bang Theory and The Good Wife, a recent episode of Orphan Black and the series finale of Revenge. Plus, a brief reality check and a some TV recommendation.

Prime Picks

The Vampire Diaries (The CW): Season Finale. Elena is in a bad spot. Bonnie does things on her own to stop who is coming after her. Damon has a big decision to make. Stefan realizes what his mother will do to get her people back from the prison world. This is Nina Dobrev’s last episode.

The Blacklist (NBC): Season Finale. Liz has to go on the run after being framed by the Cabal and Red has to try and clear her name. Cooper gets some big news. The team is finding it hard to know who to trust. Runs 61 minutes.

Elementary (CBS): Season Finale. Holmes’ sponsor goes missing and he searches for him, which leads him to wonder if something has happened to him or if he has relapsed.

Solid Selections

Bones (FOX): New. Booth and Cam head to Iran to help with a murder case after Arastoo gets abducted to help with a case there. Brennan realizes that Booth is gambling again.

Scandal (ABC): Season Finale. Olivia and the team continue to go after Command. Mellie learns the results of her election. Runs 61 minutes.

The Comedians (FX): New. Billy and Josh try to address a lack of diversity within the cast and crew. Runs 31 minutes. Plays again later two times.
Louie (FX): New. Jane invites some people over. Starts a minute after the half hour and runs 31 minutes. Plays again later two times.

Other Options

  • Game of Thrones (HBO): Repeat. This past Sunday night’s episode, “Kill the Boy,” replays.
  • Grey’s Anatomy (ABC): Season Finale. The doctors bond while continuing to save disaster victims.
  • The Odd Couple (CBS): Season Finale. Oscar and his ex-wife get audited by the IRS, which leads Felix to offer his mediation services.
  • Silicon Valley (HBO): Repeat. This past Sunday night’s episode, “Server Space,” replays. Runs 30 minutes. Plays again later.
  • Veep (HBO): Repeat. This past Sunday night’s episode, “Convention,” replays. Runs 30 minutes.
  • Wayward Pines (FOX): Series Premiere. A Secret Service ends up in a small town after a car accident while investigating the disappearance of two other agents. The show is based on the series of novels by Blake Crouch and stars Matt Dillon, Carla Gugino, Terrence Howard, Juliette Lewis, Melissa Leo and many other recognizable faces. The cast is phenomenal and the show is quite good. It has elements of Lost and Twin Peaks, but a few episodes in turns into something else altogether. I’ve seen the first five episodes and liked it quite a bit so far and will be watching the other five when they air. Not sure why FOX decided to premiere it up against the Scandal and The Blacklist season finales, so can’t recommend it over things we’ve been watching for 21 episodes now. But, if you like weird and twisted mysteries, be sure to catch up either online, on demand or DVR and get ready for next week.

  • ESPN has doubleheader NBA Playoff action tonight with the Cleveland Cavaliers at the Chicago Bulls followed by the Houston Rockets at the Los Angeles Clippers.
