Listen to the latest TV times Three Podcast: Ep.291, “NBC Fall TV Preview 2015.” On this episode I am joined by @mytakeontv and @raelee to talk a bit about this being our seventh anniversary episode and then preview the NBC Fall TV Schedule followed by a discussion of the ninth season premiere of Doctor Who. Plus, some TV recommendations and we answer listener questions at the end.
Heroes Reborn (NBC): Series Premiere. A terrorist attack in Odesa, Texas at a celebration for people with extraordinary abilities now being known to the world sends those with said abilities into hiding, as there are those that would do them harm. This version of the show picks up about five years from where the story left off in Heroes. Runs two hours. Two episodes play tonight and if you have any interest in delving back into this world, you should watch both. The first episode gets you back into the world and updates you on where things stand, but the second episode is the one that really lets you in on what the ongoing storyline might be for the 13-episode event series. I stopped watching Heroes somewhere at the beginning of season three, but quite enjoyed the first two hours and plan on watching the entire run. For more on Heroes Reborn, listen to my spoiler free preview.
The Player (NBC): Series Premiere. As the series kicks off we are introduced to Alex Kane, played by Philip Winchester (Strike Back), a security expert. He gets tangled up with an elite gambling organization called the House that is led by the mysterious Mr. Johnson, played by Wesley Snipes (Blade films). Kane ends up joining the group as The Player after the murder of his ex-wife, as he believes they can help him find the person who did it. In the meantime, he tries to stop crimes from taking place, as the members of the group bet on whether he will succeed or not. It has a cheesy premise, but it has some fun action. Listen to my spoiler free preview to find out more about The Player.
Grey’s Anatomy (ABC): Season Premiere. Meredith is trying to get used to having new roommates. Jackson is ready for April to come back. Bailey is working to become Chief of Surgery.
Scandal (ABC): Season Premiere. Olivia and Fitz seem to be in a good spot, while Cyrus, Huck and Mellie are dealing with the consequences of helping Command. Olivia is hired by a visiting Queen to help protect her family’s privacy.
How to Get Away With Murder (ABC): Season Premiere. Annalise and Frank knows something that the students don’t and vow to find out who did it. Annalise takes the case of siblings that have been charged with killing their parents.
