Tara Lynne Barr, Tommy Dewey and Michaela Watkins in Hulu’s Casual
In this episode we preview Hulu’s new dramedy Casual. It stars Michaela Watkins (Trophy Wife), Tommy Dewey (The Mindy Project) and Tara Lynne Bar (Aquarius).
Casual is about a brother and sister living under the same roof, he a serial bachelor and she recently divorced. Together, they navigate the crazy world of dating while raising her teenage daughter that is sometimes the most adult person in the home.
Unfortunately, Casual didn’t work for me. While I like the cast and it is really well done, I didn’t find it all the funny. Comedy-wise though, if things like FX’s You’re the Worst are you jam or if you like half-hour premium cable dramedies like Nurse Jackie, then this might be for you. Much like my TVtimesThree co-host Amrie (@mytakeontv), who recommended it recently on Ep.291.
