Jeff Hephner and Gerald McRaney in TNT’s Agent X
On this episode we preview TNT’s new actioner Agent X. It stars Jeff Hephner (Boss, Chicago Fire), Sharon Stone (Casino film, Basic Instinct films), Gerald McRaney (Major Dad, Simon & Simon), John Shea (Mutant X, Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman), Mike Colter (Marvel’s Jessica Jones, The Good Wife), and Jamie Sheridan (Law & Order: Criminal Intent).
Synopsis: In times of extreme crisis, when traditional law and government aren’t in a position to help, there is an unseen hand that works to protect this country and its citizens from all manner of threats by any means necessary. Hidden from the view of the public — and even from the President — there is a top secret agent who is trained and ready to serve, deployed only at the careful discretion of the Vice President. This is Agent X.
Agent X is a show I was looking forward to, as I like action movies and shows. But, this was a real disappointment. The cast is great and the action isn’t bad, but that can’t cover over the terrible dialogue and situations they have to partake. Agent X‘s worst sin is taking itself too seriously. If it was played for goofy fun, it might be worth checking out.
