Over on cable, Cooking Channel has the first season finale of Food: Fact or Fiction?, Discovery Channel has the second season finale of Vegas Rat Rods, Food Network has the sixth season finale of Guy’s Grocery Games, and History has The Making of Trump special.

Supergirl (CBS): New. Kara trains with a military cyborg, which was commissioned by General Sam Lane, and ends up overcome with anger and stress. Cat gets a visit from her mother. Alex goes to Winn for help in looking into her father’s death.

Major Crimes (TNT): New. The squad investigates after a young man gets pushed off a parking structure. Plays again later. Last week’s episode, “Taking the Fall,” replays right before.

Legends (TNT): New. Kate is a fugitive in Paris. Ballard finds some information that could lead him to Martin. In the past, Ilyana goes to Dmitry with a dangerous request. Plays again later.

Solid Selections

Gotham (FOX): Fall Finale. Bruce gets kidnapped. Gordon does whatever he can to track him down. Returns Monday, February 29th.

A Charlie Brown Christmas (ABC): Repeat. The holiday classic cartoon has Charlie searching for the true meaning of Christmas. A new 50th anniversary retrospective special plays right before.

The Royals (E!): Repeat. Last night’s episode, “Is Not This Something More Than Fantasy?,” replays.

  • Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (The CW): Fall Finale. Rebecca embellishes her life in West Covina when her mother comes for a visit. Returns Monday, January 18th.
  • Homeland (Showtime): Repeat. Last night’s episode, “The Litvinov Ruse,” replays. Plays again later.
  • It’s Your 50th Christmas, Charlie Brown (ABC): New Special. A retrospective hosted by Kristen Bell featuring the performances from Vince Guaraldi, Kristin Chenoweth, Matthew Morrison, Sarah McLachlan, Boyz II Men, Pentatonix, David Benoit and the All-American Boys Chorus.
  • Superstore (NBC): Series Premiere. Two episodes play tonight to preview the series that will officially premiere on Monday, January 4th. It stars America Ferrara (Ugly Betty) and Ben Feldman (Mad Men, Drop Dead Diva as employees at a big Target/Walmart type store. It follows them and others as they work at the store. While I really like the leads, I didn’t find the show to be all that good. I’ve seen four of its 11 episodes and you can find out more by listening to my spoiler-free Superstore preview.
