The X-Files (FOX): Season Premiere. Mulder and Scully are back to investigate a government conspiracy that a popular web-TV-show host brings to them about a woman claiming she has been abducted by aliens. Scheduled to play immediately after the NFC Championship Game, which should be sometime around 10:00pm ET. This is a solid re-entry into the world of The X-Files, even if it brings up some questions that don’t really make sense given where the series has gone in the past. But, it sets the table well for the six episode return. The next episode plays tomorrow night in what will be its regular night and is a better overall episode. Are you excited for the return? Will you be watching tonight?

- Billions (Showtime): New. Chuck comes across some problems with his probe. Axe makes a big move. Plays again later.
- Marvel’s Agent Carter (ABC): Repeat. This past Tuesday’s second season premiere episodes, “The Lady in the Lake” and “A View in the Dark,” replay. Starts a minute after the hour following Galavant and runs 119 minutes.

- CBS has the first NFL game today with the AFC Championship Game with the New England Patriots at the Denver Broncos.
- CBS Sports has women’s college basketball action today with Dayton at St. Joseph’s followed by doubleheader men’s action with East Carolina at Memphis and Dayton at Fordham.
- ESPN2 has doubleheader women’s college basketball action today with Ohio State at Rutgers followed by South Carolina at Mississippi State and then men’s action with Syracuse at Virginia and Round of 16 coverage of the Australian Open tennis tournament.
- ESPNU has five college basketball games today with men’s action with Tulane at Cincinnati, women’s action with South Florida at Central Florida then more men’s action with Evansville at Indiana State, North Carolina at Virginia Tech and Utah at Washington.
