Prime Picks

Supergirl (CBS): New. A twisted, or bizarro, version of Supergirl is causing problems and the real Supergirl tries to put a stop to her.

Jane the Virgin (The CW): New. Jane has a computer mishap that causes problems with her thesis. Rafael tells Michael some info about Mutter.

Lost Girl (Syfy): Winter Premiere. Bo and the gang attempt to stop another ancient evil from destroying everything. Plays again later.

Solid Selections

The X-Files (FOX): New. Mulder and Scully investigate who, or what, is killing people in the woods. Mulder deals with his disillusionment. The common wisdom out there seems to be that this is the best of the first three episodes. It is a fun episode and has an interesting twist on this type of story, but the episode itself felt oddly low-budget compared to the first two. Overall, I think I actually liked last week’s episode the best out of the first three. I’d be interested to hear your thoughts on it.

The Magicians (Syfy): New. Quentin and Julia run into each other unexpectedly. Penny continues to learn about his abilities. Alice continues to do anything she can to find out what happened to her brother. Plays again later. I’m still lukewarm on this show, although next week’s episode is interesting. Hope they delve more into the world of Fillory, as that spin on things is the one thing that makes this stand out from the expected from this type of story.

NCIS: Los Angeles (CBS): Repeat. The season seven premiere episode, “Active Measures,” replays. Starts a minute before the hour and runs 61 minutes.

Late Night

  • Angie Tribeca (TBS): Repeat. The second episode, “The Wedding Planner Did It,” replays. Plays again later.
  • Billions (Showtime): Repeat. Last night’s episode, “YumTime,” replays. Plays again later twice.
  • Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (The CW): New. Rebecca finds out that Josh works at a camp to at-risk youth and decides to join him in hopes of reminding him about their time at camp when they were teens.
  • Recovery Road (Freeform): New. Maddie continues to hang out with her old friends, as the relationship with Maddie that led Rebecca to her present state is shown.
