Prime Pick

The Big Bang Theory (CBS): New. “The Dependence Transcendence.” Runs 31 minutes.
Ash vs Evil Dead (Starz): Repeat. Last night’s second season premiere episode, “Home,” replays. Starts 10 minutes after the half hour and runs 35 minutes. Plays again later two times.

Timeless (NBC): Series Premiere. A group is put together to head back in time to 1937 to try and stop Flynn, who stole a time machine, from changing history around the Hindenburg disaster. This looks like it could be a fun one, especially if you like the time travel genre. Like the cast a lot and that there are consequences for messing with the timeline. There is a potentially interesting ongoing mystery setup. Look forward to checking out more. For more on Timeless, listen to my spoiler-free preview.

Solid Selections

Supergirl (The CW): Repeat. The 19th episode, “Myriad,” replays, where Kara tries to save her friends from mind control.

Supergirl (The CW): Repeats. The first season finale episode, “Better Angels,” replays, where Supergirl attempts to save the planet.

Conviction (ABC): Series Premiere. This law drama follows a woman who takes a position leading a new agency that takes a second look at cases where the person may be innocent. In the first episode, she and her investigators take the case of a former high-school football star that was convicted of murdering his girlfriend. Starts a minute after the hour and runs 59 minutes. Like the cast, but this really is kind of a mess of a show. They try to give everyone an interesting backstory, but it feels each feels a bit too much on the nose for why they are part of this team. Yet, if you like law procedurals, you may like this one.

Other Options

  • Chopped (Food Network): New. It’s the “Best Halloween Ever.” A repeat Halloween themed episode replays later. Both play again later.
  • Gotham (FOX): New. Gordon gets hired by the Mad Hatter to find his sister. Penguin decides to run for mayor. Runs 61 minutes.
  • Westworld (HBO2): Repeat. Last night’s series premiere episode, “The Original,” replays. Plays again later on HBO.

Sports Note

  • ESPN has Monday Night Football action with the New York Giants at the Minnesota Vikings.
