Prime Picks

The Librarians (TNT): New. The normally unlikeable Cindy Kroger uses a magical potion to become popular and the Librarians have to keep her from contaminating the world with it before everyone becomes her biggest fan. Plays again later.

Sherlock (PBS): Season Premiere. Holmes is waiting for Moriarty to make his move while trying to figure out why someone is destroying images of the late prime minister Margaret Thatcher. Runs 90 minutes. Plays twice and again later.

Solid Selections

The Mick (FOX): Series Premiere. A woman, played by Kaitlin Olson (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia), who spends her time partying and scamming to get by ends up having to take care of her sister’s three spoiled children after their parents leave the country after being arrested. Starts immediately after the late NFL Football game. Runs 30 minutes. Then the show will take its regular timeslot following New Girl on Tuesday night. Really like the first couple episodes of this show. It really puts Olson and her fantastic physical comedy abilities front and center. I look forward to seeing what this show will be come after the first two episodes, which setup that she is stuck in this new situation.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine (FOX): Winter Finale. The two part “The Fugitive” have a group of convicts escaping from a prison van. Former Seahawks runningback Marshawn Lynch is the only witness. In the first half Amy and Jake make a bet. In the second half Jake gets some surprising help to take down the final escapee. Runs 60 minutes. This will follow The Mick on the east coast but will play in the regular primetime period on the west coast.
