Over on cable, Cooking Channel has the third season premieres of Dinner at Tiffani’s and Tia Mowry at Home and the third season finale of Unwrapped 2.0, Discovery Channel has the series premiere of Everest Rescue, History has a Transition of Power: The Presidency special, and Travel Channel has a Top Secret Swimming Holes special.

Next week, HBO has the series premiere of The Young Pope, PBS has the series premiere of Victoria, and Showtime has the sixth season premiere of Homeland.

The Librarians (TNT): New. The team investigates people spontaneously combusting. Plays again later.

Sherlock (PBS): New. Sherlock goes up against an enemy with the darkest of secrets. Runs 90 minutes. Plays twice and again later. Last week’s fourth season premiere episode, “The Six Thatchers,” replays right before.

The Simpsons (FOX): New. Marge’s new obsession has the family re-evaluating things and having to get rid of things that no longer bring them joy. Runs 30 minutes.

Madam Secretary (CBS): New. Elizabeth deals with the fallout from a gift from Mongolia.

Elementary (CBS): New. Holmes and Watson try to help find a woman that has been held for many years. Shinwell doesn’t seem to be taking his training seriously.
