Tonight on the Tube: American Idol, Criminal Minds, CSI: NY & Boston Legal

News & Notes

Download Episodes of CSI: NY at Amazon UnboxTonight, ABC has the fourth season finale of Boston Legal, CBS has the third season finale of Criminal Minds and the fourth season finale of CSI: NY, FOX has the seventh season finale of American Idol, and NBC has the 18th season finale of Law & Order.

Over on cable, BBC America has the fourth season premiere of MI-5 and Comedy Central has the fourth season premiere of Mind of Mencia.

Prime Picks

Lost (ABC): Repeat. Episode 10, “Something Nice Back Home,” from three weeks ago replays and is followed by episode 11, “Cabin Fever.” Episode 12, “There’s No Place Like Home, Part 1,” replays before the two hour season finale on May 29th. So, you can get caught up, if you have gotten a few episodes behind, or you can just watch them again.

Criminal Minds (CBS): Season Finale. People are being seemingly killed at random and the team struggles to figure out why and put a stop to it.

CSI: NY (CBS): Season Finale. They pretty much did this on CSI: Miami only a few episodes ago with Calliegh, but in this one Mac is forced to show that a gunman didn’t kill the bank manager of the bank he was robbing after he takes the rest of the bank goers hostage.

Solid Selections

American Idol (CBS): Season Finale. After two hours of filler, the winner is announced, but who out there doesn’t think it is going to be David Archuleta?

Law & Order (NBC): Season Finale. Fittingly the strike shortened 18th season ends with episode 18, where a jewelers murder leads the detectives to a prostitution ring. McCoy’s job comes under fire. Two repeat episodes from earlier in the season replay leading up to the finale.

Cable Choices

Good Eats (Food Network): Repeats. Alton knows that “Sometimes You Feel Like a Nut” and then hears it from the “Peanut Gallery.” Both episodes play again later.

MI-5 (BBC America): Season Premiere. The fourth season begins playing. The show is known as Spooks in the UK and the few episodes I have seen of the first couple of seasons were really good.

Tyler Perry’s House of Payne (TBS): Repeats. The second two of four repeat episodes replay tonight in this timeslot.

Other Options

  • Boston Legal (ABC): Season Finale. Alan takes the case of a town that wants to secede from the U.S. and Denny is offended.

I can’t wait to see tonight’s CM, CSI: NY & L&O. Love all 3 of em. I was pretty much burned out on the reg. L&O before this season, because I’d gotten really tired of Jack McCoy. Thankfully since he moved up to the DA spot, he’s on much less and I can enjoy it again. lol Sad, but true.

Jenny, I hadn’t really watched a Law & Order episode in quite some time until this season. Watched to see what Jeremy Sisto would be like at the beginning of the season and then watched again to see Jesse L. Martin’s last episode and then again the next week to see Sisto partnered up with Anthony Anderson. The show has been almost completely overhauled in the last two seasons. I am also looking forward to tonight’s Criminal Minds, but may have to wait on CSI: NY, if I don’t get caught up with the last couple of episodes before tonight.

Jenny, I am just about to do so, as soon as I finish adding some pictures to the American Idol season seven winner post I just posted without having actually added the pictures. It looks really slick, if you click the “more” link you get nothing right now.

Jenny, That was quite the ending to Criminal Minds. I haven’t heard anything about anyone leaving the show, so I am wondering who it is? I got an email from a reader and they think that it won’t be J.J., Prentiss, or Reid, as she paused, rewound and took note of license plate numbers and other vehicle characteristics to come to her conclusion. All I know is that if it is J.J., Reid, or Garcia, I’m not going to be happy. Not that I want to see any of the others killed off the show.

I’m wondering if Hotch and the British lady are killed and Morgan is offered both of their jobs and he has to decide whether he will take one or neither. No clue, though. heh
