Most shows were taking a holiday break, to which TV fans sighed.
The remotes were all nestled quietly next to the TV gear,
As we waited for new shows to return in the New Year.
But, was there really nothing for us to watch this week,
Or could we find something worth taking a peek.
So I searched far and wide on the Internet for what to see
And here is what I found to watch coming this week on TV.
Thursday FOX is announcing The X Factor S.3 winner,
ABC has A Charlie Brown Christmas to view after dinner,
They also have 20/20: The Year for review
And NBC replays the Saturday Night Live Christmas special for you.
There is the first season finale of The Returned on Sundance
And USA Network has a new White Collar serving up cons and romance,
You could watch a new Anger Management on FX with your honey,
But I’d rather watch a new Ground Floor on TBS, very funny.
On Friday night NBC replays It’s a Wonderful Life once more
And CBS revives the I Love Lucy Christmas Special for you to adore.
FOX has the Happiness Is a Warm Blanket, Charlie Brown cartoon
And TNT has Christmas in Washington with Sheryl Crow singing a tune.
TNT is also showing A Christmas Carol with Patrick Stewart starring,
Yet there is plenty of regular TV to make the schedule less jarring.
CBS is bringing it with new Hawaii Five-0 and Blue Bloods sass
And The CW has new The Carrie Diaries and Nikita kicking some ass.
On Saturday the college football bowl season kicks off on ESPN,
With Washington St. vs. Colorado St. going for a New Mexico Bowl win,
Next is Fresno St. vs. USC in the Las Vegas Bowl over on ABC,
Then back to ESPN where they have two more games for thee.
But, Saturday night is pretty light on TV bliss,
Except for the fun of BBC America’s Atlantis.
ABC is replaying I Want a Dog for Christmas, Charlie Brown
And NBC has a new SNL with Fallon and Timberlake coming to town.
On Sunday, ABC is replaying The Sound of Music starring Julie Andrews,
And CBS has 60 Minutes trying to bring you the latest news,
Treme on HBO is also new on this night no longer in the fall,
I’ll be watching da Bears at the Eagles on NBC’s Sunday Night Football.
On Monday night, NBC has The Sing-Off S.4 finale
And The Great Christmas Light Fight comes to a close on ABC,
Right before Shrek the Halls and A Chipmunk Christmas both replay,
While TNT has a new Major Crimes coming your way.
Oh yeah, a new season of Hollywood Game Night on NBC also arrives
And Food Network has a new Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives.
ESPN Monday Night Football has the Falcons at the 49ers who are lame
And earlier have East Carolina vs. Ohio in the St. Petersburg Bowl game.
Christmas Eve, NBC replays It’s a Wonderful Life black & white edition
And TNT begins its A Christmas Story 24-hour marathon tradition.
ABC has Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas animated & movie
And FOX replays the Brooklyn Nine-Nine Christmas ep, which is groovy.
BBC America has Doctor Who episodes all day to delight
And the past three Doctor Who Christmas specials that night.
Tomorrow they will be saying “Farewell to Matt Smith,” which is sad,
But they’ll also be replaying season seven, which is rad.
Christmas Day has 5 ABC/ESPN NBA games and those Who encores,
With the Bulls, Nets, Knicks, Heat, Lakers, Spurs, Clippers & Warriors.
And, a replay of the Doctor Who 50th on BBC America before,
Closing out the night and week with The Time of the Doctor.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
Past ‘Twas the TV Week Before Christmas – 2012, 2011, 2010, 2007, 2006 & 2005.
