Over on cable, AMC has the third season finale of Halt and Catch Fire, Discovery Channel has the first season finale of Taking Fire, Freeform has the series premieres of Ben & Lauren: Happily Ever After? and The Letter, History has the third fall season finale of Forged in Fire, MTV has a Prescription for Change: Ending America’s Opioid Crisis special, Pop has the series premiere of American Supergroup, Spike TV has a That Awkward Game Show special, Syfy has the series premiere of Channel Zero, tbs has a Full Frontal With Samantha Bee: Second Presidential Debate Special, and Travel Channel has a couple of Booze Traveler: Best Bars specials.

In late night, ION has the fourth season premiere of Saving Hope.

On streaming, Hulu has The Mindy Project S.5 Ep.2 as of this morning.

The Flash (The CW): New. Barry realizes that not everything is fixed. Barry meets his new co-worker, who doesn’t particularly like him.

This Is Us (NBC): New. Kevin ponders what he is going to do next. Toby puts together a special day for Kate. Rebecca and Jack are having trouble dealing with three babies. Another great hour of TV.

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (ABC): New. Simmons works with Dr. Radcliffe to save May. Coulson, Mack and Fitz work to stop a group that is intent on stopping Inhuman Registration.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine (FOX): New. Crossover with New Girl has Jess helping Jake with a case. Runs 31 minutes.
New Girl (FOX): New. Jess and the gang have headed to New York where they crossover with Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Starts a minute after the half hour and runs 30 minutes.

Fresh Off the Boat (ABC): Season Premiere. Louis and the family head to Taiwan. Jessica takes the kids on a tour of her favorite childhood places. Runs 30 minutes.

Atlanta (FX): New. An appearance by Montague is made. Runs 31 minutes. Plays again later two times.

Other Options

  • American Housewife (ABC): Series Premiere. A woman is trying to raiser her flawed family in the midst of seemingly perfect people. Runs 30 minutes. Didn’t particularly care for this one and you can find out more about why with my American Housewife spoiler-free preview.
  • Ash vs Evil Dead (Starz): Repeat. This past Sunday night’s episode, “The Morgue,” replays. Runs 30 minutes.
  • Halt and Catch Fire (AMC): Season Finale. Two episodes play. In the first, Donna tries to get everyone to come together while attending Comdex. Runs 61 minutes. In the finale, the next big thing and how to make it happen is discussed, but everyone may not be happy with the plan. Runs 70 minutes. Both play again later two times. AMC has renewed the show for a fourth and final season.
  • The Middle (ABC): Season Premiere. Frankie and Mike meet Axl’s girlfriend. Sue wants to change her major. Brick starts high school. Runs 30 minutes.
  • NCIS (CBS): New. Gibbs, Quinn and Palmer head out to sea after a navy lieutenant is found dead. McGee tries to figure out the best way to propose to Delilah.
  • NCIS: New Orleans (CBS): New. The murder of a petty officer leads to a missing petty officer that was last seen in Mexico.
  • No Tomorrow (The CW): New. Evie meets Xavier’s escaped convict cousin. Evie might be losing her job. Hank tries to change his look in hopes of getting Evie back.
  • Westworld (HBO): Repeat. This past Sunday night’s episode, “Chestnut,” replays. Runs 65 minutes. The previous episode, “The Original,” replays right before. Runs 70 minutes.

  • ESPN2 has Game 2 of the WNBA Finals with the Los Angeles Sparks at the Minnesota Linx.
  • FS1 has doubleheader National League Wild Card games with the Washington Nationals at the Los Angeles Dodgers followed by the Chicago Cubs at the San Francisco Giants.
