There are actually a few things on tonight that might be worth taking a look at. Want drama then look no further than the spelling bee on ABC or the NBA Playoffs on TNT. If comedy is more to your liking then NBC has what you need with a night of The Office reruns or click over to AMC for The Princess Bride. Want to see some B and C-List celebrities make fools of themselves for charity then CBS has what you need with Gameshow Marathon. Whatever it is there looks to be something to fit the bill on tonight. What will it be for you?
Prime Picks
2006 Scripps National Spelling Bee (ABC): New. Watch two hours of “Could you use that in a sentence?†and “What is the origin of the word?†or the always good “Could you repeat that?†as the pressure packed championship rounds from the spelling competition unfold.
Without a Trace (CBS): Repeat. In this rerun from the past season a young female therapist goes missing and the team investigates. This was a really good episode.
Solid Selections
Gameshow Marathon (CBS): New. The first episode last night of this was kind of lame. I think it was mainly because it was The Price is Right, which is still on the air these days. Maybe it will be more fun as tonight’s game show is Let’s Make a Deal, as I haven’t seen that in a while. Upcoming episodes will feature Press Your Luck and Card Sharks.
So You Think You Can Dance (FOX): New. More Chicago auditions are shown.
Primetime (ABC): Foster care in the U.S. is profiled.
Cable Choices
Get Out There! (Animal Planet): New. A family takes a wildlife tour of Hawaii.
Throwdown with Bobby Flay (Food Network): New. Tonight is the debut episode of this new cooking competition show with Chef Bobby Flay as has to use his culinary skills to put up or shut up.
SuperGroup (VH1): New. Tonight they have a mandatory band dinner.
Other Options
- Abominable (Sci-Fi): Released 2006. B-movie made-for-TV goodness as a man tries to warn people of a beast in the California Mountains. Runs two hours.
- The Office (NBC): Repeats. Tonight you will find four episodes with the first and last being the best of the bunch. The first is the one where the staff is left to wait in the parking lot after a small fire in the break room. The last is the “Performance Review†episode where Michael raids the suggestion box for ideas to present to his boss.
- The Princess Bride (AMC): The classic tale of a stableboy turned pirate who rescues the princess before she can marry the terrible prince. Stars Cary Elwes, Robin Wright and Mandy Patinkin. Runs two hours.
