Prime Picks

The Simpsons (FOX): New. Homer tries becoming a tow-truck driver, while Marge gets some counseling on how to raise independent children.
King of the Hill (FOX): New. Bobby might be a cheerleader at the annual powder puff football game. That should sit well with Hank.

Desperate Housewives (ABC): New. Lynette bans Tom from her chemo sessions. Susan is thought to be a stripper. Bree tries to get her hands on a prize-winning recipe. Runs 61 minutes.

Brother & Sisters (ABC): New. Tommy is having trouble with being a father. Kitty, Kevin and Nora take a road trip. Sarah learns the whole truth about what happened with Rebecca and her husband.

Solid Selections

Life is Wild (The CW): Series Premiere. Based on the BBC series Wild at Heart, a big city veterinarian uproots his blended family for South Africa.

Cold Case (CBS): New. The case of an Amish teen’s murder is reopened.

Shark (CBS): New. A plastic surgeon that is swapping sex for surgery may be the prime suspect in the murder of a surgically altered aspiring actress.

Cable Choices

Food Wars: Barbecue (Travel Channel): Repeat. The right way to prepare BBQ is chronicled by region.

Dexter (Showtime): New. Debra loses it and Dexter is trying to track down the one that got away. Plays again later. Read review.

Curb Your Enthusiasm (HBO): New. Larry gets freaked by a book about freaks. Runs 30 minutes.

Other Options

  • Brotherhood (Showtime): New. Tommy begins campaigning for re-election. A cousin from Providence comes back to town. Plays again later.
  • Damages (FX): Repeat. Last Tuesday’s episode, “Sort of Like a Family,” replays. Runs 64 minutes.
  • Iron Chef America (Food Network): New. Iron Chef Bobby Flay faces off against Chef Kurt Boucher. Plays again later.
  • The Next Iron Chef (Food Network): Series Premiere. Alton Brown (Good Eats, Iron Chef America) hosts this competition series. Eight wannabe Iron Chefs compete to be part of the next season of Iron Chef America. They are all top-notch chefs and restaurant owners with plenty of skills, this is not a bunch of amateurs hoping to make it big, this is a bunch of successful chefs wanting to make it bigger. Plays again later.
  • Side Order of Life (Lifetime): Season Finale. Two episodes play to close out the first season of this great show. In the first, Jenny is starting to have doubts about Brian and him actually being “cell phone man.” In the second, the finale, Jenny’s life is turned upside down as Ian and Becca are about to walk down the aisle. Last week’s episode, “Aliens,” replays early today. Really hope that Lifetime picks this show up for a second season. How about you, would you like to see it return?
