Tonight on the Tube: Jericho, Lost, The Nine, 30 Rock, Criminal Minds, CSI: NY and World Series Game 4

Criminal Minds - The First SeasonCan you believe that Criminal Minds edged Lost ever so slightly in the overall ratings for the second hour of primetime last week? I like and watch both shows but was surprised that Lost had slipped that far ratings wise as to be the number two show in its timeslot. Do you watch Lost, Criminal Minds or Both? Why do you think the Lost audience has dwindled? Have you stopped watching, if so, why? I am always interested in how this happens to a hit show.

Prime Picks

Jericho (CBS): New. The people of the town find that they are really alone as the town goes completely dark after an electromagnetic pulse destroys anything with a circuit board.

Lost (ABC): New. Desmond starts building a weird device leaving the rest of the castaways to wonder what he is doing. Jack must save the life of an Other with his surgeon skills and Sawyer and Kate find out how far the Others are willing to go. Runs 61 minutes.

The Nine (ABC): New. Franny is getting threatening phone calls from her nephew’s father and talks to Kathryn at the suggestion of Nick. Lizzie wants to face Randall in court.

Solid Selections

30 Rock (NBC): New. Jack joins the writers for their weekly poker game after setting Liz up on a blind date with a friend of his.
20 Good Years (NBC): New. They may have 20 good years but this is one bad show. I will say once again that loud doesn’t equal funny and louder definitely doesn’t equal funnier. The real selection in the first hour timeslot is 30 Rock this show is just filler until the next hour of primetime starts.

Criminal Minds (CBS): New. In a small town two children have been murdered in just two weeks and the team goes into investigate.

CSI: NY (CBS): New. While investigating one crime the team hears gunshots across the street and start to investigate that as well.

Cable Choices

Emeril Live (Food Network): Repeat. Emeril whips up some fabulous chocolate desserts including caramel and chocolate apples.

MythBusters (Discovery Channel): New. The guys retest some myths to see if they were right the first time.

Good Eats (Food Network): Repeat. Alton makes some homemade brittles and taffy.
Ham on the Street (Food Network): New. Fun with Pizza is had.

Other Options

  • American Eats (History Channel): Repeat. Get your fill of the history of chocolate.
  • Professional Poker Tour (Travel Channel): New. Some third quarter action from the Bellagio. Runs two hours.

Sports Notes

  • ESPN has NBA preseason basketball with the Houston Rockets playing the Miami Heat.
  • FOX has Game 4 of the 2006 World Series with the St. Louis Cardinals up one game in the series.
