Get The Office Episodes at iTunesTonight NBC goes with some super-sized episodes of their comedy block, which is followed by an extended ER. ER runs 67 minutes, but that extra seven minutes is before the third hour of primetime begins. CBS has the season finale of Shark tonight and then next week in that timeslot is the season finale of Without a Trace. Also next week, NBC has the season finale of My Name Is Earl. Pretty much everything else on Thursdays has its season finale on May 17th.

Prime Picks

Smallville (The CW): New. Tonight is a special “Noir” episode where Jimmy passes out and dreams of a 1940s version of Smallville.

Grey’s Anatomy (ABC): New. Tonight is the two-hour episode that includes Kate Walsh’s Dr. Addison Montgomery heading out on a road trip to visit old friends in California. Back in Seattle, Cristina is planning her wedding with the help of her mother as well as Burke’s. Jane “Ava” Doe needs emergency surgery. This is being used as a pilot episode for a possible spinoff that would star Kate Walsh along with Tim Daly (The Nine, Wings), Taye Diggs (Day Break, Kevin Hill), Merrin Dungey (The King of Queens, Alias) and Amy Brenneman (Judging Amy, NYPD Blue). At present the new show would be called Private Practice.

Solid Selections

My Name Is Earl (NBC): New. Runs 36 minutes. Earl has gotten a job as an appliance salesman and Joy has gone completely irrational. The season finale is next week.
The Office (NBC): New. Runs 43 minutes. Phyllis gets flashed and Andy and Dwight head up the search for the flasher. Did you know that this is one of the most DVRed shows on TV right now and NBC is thinking about moving it into the second hour of primetime on Thursday nights next season? I think that would keep it at the top of the TiVo list if it were to go into direct competition with Grey’s Anatomy and CSI. What do you think of that move being made?
Scrubs (NBC): New. Runs 34 minutes. Keith buys Elliot an engagement ring that doesn’t fit, so Keith lets her plan her own engagement. Keri Russell is still around as Elliot’s sorority sister. It is presently being rumored that NBC may not pick Scrubs up for its final season. Don’t worry though, if that were to happen, ABC would most likely pick it up. Either way they will be back for one more season.

Shark (CBS): Season Finale. The serial killer that defended himself and scared Stark by getting close to Julie is drawn out of hiding and they go after him again.

Cable Choices

Gotta Get It (Food Network): New. Some unique wedding gifts are profiled.
Gotta Get It (Food Network): New. Cool kitchen gifts are looked at.

Lake Placid 2 (Sci Fi): Released 2007. A sheriff, a hunter and a wildlife officer hunt three giant crocodiles in this made-for-TV sequel to Lake Placid. Runs two hours. Played for the first time last Saturday night.

Other Options

  • CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (CBS): New. A group of UFO-club members are suspects in a murder investigation. They all happen to be a bunch of out-there wack jobs that think shape-shifting aliens have been infiltrating are society for years.

  • TNT has doubleheader NBA Playoff action with the Houston Rockets at the Utah Jazz and then the Dallas Mavericks at the Golden State Warriors.
  • Versus has NHL Playoff action with the Vancouver Canucks at the Anaheim Ducks.
