Tonight on the Tube: Big Love for Kyle XY

Tonight is the season premieres of Big Love on HBO and Kyle XY on ABC Family. Next week is the series premieres Age Of Love on NBC and Heartland on TNT and the season premiere of The Closer on TNT. Prime Picks

Everybody Hates Chris (The CW): Repeat. Chris runs for student body president and needs to make the speech of a lifetime to have any shot at winning.
The New Adventures of Old Christine (CBS): Repeat. Ritchie wins a raffle at school and the prize is a playdate with his teacher, which Christine really likes.

Two and a Half Men (CBS): Repeat. Rose announces that she is moving to London and Charlie must learn to deal with life without his stalker. Wonder if she will be back next season since Melanie Lynskey, the actress that played Rose, left to star in Drive on FOX, which is no longer?
How I Met Your Mother (CBS): Repeat. This might just be the best episode of the series thus far. “Robin Sparkles” ranks right up there with the “Slutty Pumpkin” from season one for me. How about you, what are your favorite episodes?

CSI: Miami (CBS): Repeat. Calleigh gets run off the road and all the evidence she just collected gets ruined. So, they have to find another way to catch the bad guy.

Solid Selections

Hell’s Kitchen (FOX): Repeat. The season premiere episode from last week replays and a new episode will follow.

Hell’s Kitchen (FOX): New. Opening night was a disaster and now both teams need to prepare for the next challenge and then one gets sent packing at the end.

No third hour pick tonight, as the only choices are Supernanny and Dateline NBC, neither of which is my cup of tea.

Kyle XY (ABC Family): Season Premiere. As season two begins, Kyle is starting to find out some answers to questions he has long been searching for. Plays again later and on Friday in the first hour of primetime on ABC.

Unwrapped (Food Network): Repeat. Weird and quirky treats are profiled. Plays again later.
Unwrapped (Food Network): Repeat. Inedible treats are talked about. Plays again later.

Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives (Food Network): New. Get a look at some classic burger joints from around the country. Plays again later.
The Secret Life Of … (Food Network): New. Find out the history of cooking competitions tonight. Plays again later.

• Army Wives (Lifetime): Repeat. Last night’s episode, “After Birth,” replays.
• Friends (TBS): Repeats. Four episodes replay tonight with the first being “The One With Chandler in a Box,” which is one of my favorites.
• Inside the Actors Studio (Bravo): New. James Lipton has Kyra Sedgwick in the hot seat. Learn a little more about the actress before next week when her TV show, The Closer, returns on TNT.

• ESPN has Monday Night Baseball with the Chicago White Sox at the Philadelphia Phillies.

Oxygen has 20 episodes of Roseanne starting early.
