Tonight is the Emmy Awards on FOX. In season finale news, we have The 4400 and The Dead Zone on USA, David E. Talbert Presents StageBlack on TV One, Design Star on HGTV, Making News: Texas Style on TV Guide Channel and Wedding Central on WE.

Prime Pick

Sunday Night Football (NBC): The San Diego Chargers at the New England Patriots in a battle of top AFC teams. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:15 p.m. ET and is scheduled for about three hours.

Solid Selection

The 59th Annual Emmy Awards (FOX): Excellence in TV is honored at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. Ryan Seacrest hosts and Tony Bennett and Christina Aguilera will be performing. Scheduled for three hours.

Cable Choices

Food Network Challenge (Food Network): Repeat. Bakers compete in a pie-baking contest. Plays again later.

The 4400 (USA): Season Finale. It is chaos in Seattle and Promise City may be the only hope as NTAC scrambles for help. Runs 61 minutes. Plays again later.

The Dead Zone (USA): Season Finale. Secrets from Johnny’s past are starting to come to light and the promo for the show may be giving away a really big one. Plays again later.

Other Options

  • Damages (FX): Repeat. Last Tuesday’s episode, “We Are Not Animals,” replays. Runs 64 minutes.
  • Iron Chef America (Food Network): New. Iron Chef Cat Cora battles Chef Mark Tarbell. Plays again later.
  • Side Order of Life (Lifetime): New. Jenny is assigned to cover debutante season and has to follow the “It” girl of the ball. The “Whose Sperm Is It Anyway” episode from earlier in the season replays right after.

Sports Notes

  • ABC has NASCAR racing with the Nextel Cup: Sylvania 300.
  • CBS has NFL action.
  • ESPN has Sunday Night Baseball with the New York Yankees at the Boston Red Sox.
  • ESPN2 has the fifth and decisive game of the WNBA Finals between the Detroit Shock and the Phoenix Mercury.
  • FOX has NFL action, with my Seattle Seahawks at the Arizona Cardinals the game I will be watching up here.
  • NBC has the final round of The Tour Championship golf tournament.

  • It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia (FX): Repeats. The season premiere, “The Gang Finds a Dumpster Baby,” and another episode, “The Gang Gets Invincible,” from Thursday night replay.

A&E has eight episodes of Cold Case Files.
Discovery Channel has five episodes of Blue Planet and later seven episodes of Dirty Jobs.
