Prime Picks
Chuck (NBC): Series Premiere. An everyday nerd ends up downloading stolen government secrets into his brain after opening an email from an old college roommate. Government agents track him down to find out why a rogue agent sent them to him. Action and comedy ensue. Read review. Plays again Saturday night. Given that this and other new NBC shows have been available via Amazon Unbox, Blockbuster and Cable and Satellite On Demand services for the last couple of weeks, it will be interesting to see how many people actually watch tonight’s premieres. I don’t plan on watching them again this week, as they premiere. So, what do you think the chances are that the second week’s ratings could be much stronger than opening night, as people tune into the second episodes of the shows they like, but not the first one, having already seen it?
Heroes (NBC): Season Premiere. The fates of old heroes are revealed and new heroes are introduced, as a new problem awaits those with abilities. Can’t wait, how about you? Plays again Saturday night.
Journeyman (NBC): Series Premiere. A man starts jumping through time and must figure out if he is going crazy or if there is a purpose for what is happening. He meets up with his former fiancé in the past, which starts to complicate his life in the present with his wife and son. Read review.
Solid Selections
How I Met You Mother (CBS): Season Premiere. Enrique Iglesias and Mandy Moore guest star tonight. Ted sees Robin with her new man from Argentina and then thinks it is about time to find someone of his own, so he heads out with Barney.
The Big Bang Theory (CBS): Series Premiere. A beautiful, but not that bright, woman moves in next door to two exceptionally bright, but socially inept, guys. Comedy ensues.
K-Ville (FOX): New. Cobb and Boulet are part of a manhunt after a jailbreak. The premiere last week left a little to be desired. A couple more episodes are needed to see which way the series is going to go. If it continues down the well-worn path of the standard buddy cop type show, go, is indeed what it will do.
CSI: Miami (CBS): Season Premiere. When a hostage situation turns into a murder scene, the CSIs investigate. Horatio begins to believe that one of the suspects might be his son.
