News & Notes
Tonight, FOX has the season finale of The Moment of Truth and CBS has the return of Criminal Minds and CSI: NY with new episodes.
Over on cable, History Channel has the first season finale of UFO Hunters, Spike TV has the series premiere of DEA and the seventh season finale of The Ultimate Fighter, and Travel Channel has the season premiere of John Ratzenberger’s Made in America.
In returning show news, ABC will be moving some shows around. Boston Legal returns on Tuesday, April 8th, but will move to Wednesday nights as of April 30th. That means Men in Trees will once again be left off the schedule for a few weeks, but it is scheduled to return on May 28th. Why you ask? Well, ABC is trying to give Women’s Murder Club a three week post Dancing With the Stars: Results Show push.
Prime Picks
Deal or No Deal (NBC): New. Someone probably goes to far and leaves with less money than they could have.
Criminal Minds (CBS): New. Rossi is reopening an old case and the rest of the team joins in to help.
Men in Trees (ABC): New. Morgan Fairchild (Fashion House, Falcon Crest), playing herself, comes to Elmo and wants to buy the movie rights of Marin’s life story. As mentioned above, Men in Trees will continue to air new episodes until April 30th, when Boston Legal will take over the timeslot, with Trees returning on May 28th.
Solid Selections
America’s Big Swap Moment (The CWSABFOX): New. This hour of TV still really sucks, as there is nothing solid about any of these secondary selections. Can’t wait for the return of Back to You in two weeks, so there will at least be something decent.
Law & Order: Criminal Intent (NBC): Repeat. A divers body washes up on shore and Goren and Eames end up battling with the FBI over the case, in the episode “Depths” from earlier this season.
CSI: NY (CBS): New. The assassin from earlier in the season returns and the team gets a tip on where they might be able to track her down.
Cable Choices
Barbecue Paradise (Travel Channel): New. Open flame eateries get profiled and show you where to find some of the country’s best BBQ. Plays again later.
John Ratzenberger’s Made in America (Travel Channel): Season Premiere. Two new episodes play. In the first, John visits Hobie to see how they build kayaks. In the second, John visits the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago. Both episodes play again later.
Tyler Perry’s House of Payne (TBS): New. Two new episodes play. In the first, the family disagrees with what to do with a large sum of found money. In the second, the FBI is using the Payne house for a stakeout. Two repeat episodes precede these episodes.
Other Options
- American Idol (FOX): New. A contestant gets sent home. Dolly Parton performs. The winner of The Next Great American Band also performs.
