Prime Picks
The Office (NBC): New. Jim goes up against Charles in a parking lot soccer game. Michael is having trouble getting going.
Parks and Recreation (NBC): Series Premiere. Amy Poehler (Saturday Night Live) and Rashida Jones (The Office) star in this Office styled comedy. It’s filmed in the same documentary style that The Office is, but it is not a spin-off. NBC is giving it as good a launch as it can by surrounding it with new episodes of The Office.
The Office (NBC): New. Will “The Michael Scott Paper Company” get off the ground? Tune in and find out. Runs 31 minutes.
30 Rock (NBC): New. The staff is starting to worry about budget cuts at TGS. Tracy and Jenna think Kenneth is hiding something dark. Starts a minute after the half-hour and runs 29 minutes.
Harper’s Island (CBS): Season Premiere. A woman returns to Harper’s Island for the first time in seven years. Her mother and five others were murdered on the island. She is coming back for her best friend’s wedding. As the festivities get started, people start being knocked off. Who is behind it and why? Starts two minutes after the hour and runs 58 minutes. The series will run for 13 consecutive weeks and all will be revealed in the finale, unless you figure it out ahead of time. I liked tonight’s premiere episode and think it is well worth watching. They do a good job of setting up a lot of intrigue besides just the murders. Are you planning on watching? If so, tell us why in the comments over on the Harper’s Island T-Shirt Prize Pack page and you’ll be entered in the giveaway.
Solid Selection
Bones (FOX): New. A pulverized body is found in a garbage bag and the team investigates. Angela’s father wants revenge on Hodgins.
CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (CBS): New. It seems there may be a connection between a dead skydiver and a double murder. Hopefully, it’s better than last week’s 200th episode, which might have been one of the worst episodes of the entire series. Runs 62 minutes.
Southland (NBC): Series Premiere. The story of a rookie cop, play by Benjamin McKenzie (The O.C.), that wonders if he has the right stuff to be an LAPD officer. Brought to you by John Wells, the executive producer of ER.
Cable Choices
Good Eats (Food Network): Repeats. Alton enters “Fowl Territory” while going “Cuckoo for Coq au Vin.” Both episodes play again later.
American Chopper (TLC): Season Premiere. The guys are building an NHL bike, as well as a B-2 Bomber bike. Plays again later.
Being Erica (SOAPnet): New. Erica finds out who Barbara Strange really is during this trip back in time. It plays again twice on Saturday and again Sunday night.
