The Closer - The Complete First SeasonMonday is definitely the best night on Television for the summer months. The Closer is far and away the best summer show period. Saved isn’t bad. Kyle XY while geared for the younger family set is quite an interesting mystery sci-fi show with plenty of things to keep you guessing. They have done a pretty good job of showing everyday life through the eyes of a person with a blank slate. Like learning how to eat a banana properly or dealing with the cute next-door neighbor and how she makes you feel. Have you been watching Kyle XY? This leaves you with a very good three-hour primetime TV block for your viewing pleasure. What do you think of the Monday night TV offerings?

Prime Picks

The King of Queens (CBS): Repeat. Doug gets injured at the hands of Carrie but when he starts feeling better he fakes still being hurt because she is attending to his every need.
How I Met Your Mother (CBS): Repeat. Ted and Victoria decide they have waited long enough leaving Marshall and Lily stuck in the bathroom.

Two and a Half Men (CBS): Repeat. Guest star Jon Lovitz as a rival jingle writer up for and award against Charlie.
How I Met Your Mother (CBS): Repeat. Victoria gets offered a chance to go to a culinary institute in Germany.

CSI: Miami (CBS): Repeat. A young tourist goes missing and the team investigates the seedy side of Miami nightclubs.

Solid Selections

Project Runway (NBC): Repeat. The Bravo series gets a play date on the big network again.

Treasure Hunters (NBC): New. The fifth of the seven artifacts is searched for in Europe.

Medium (NBC): Repeat. Allison can’t get a murder that kills young girls out of her head leaving her husband to fear for their daughter’s life.

Cable Choices

Kyle XY (ABC Family): New. Kyle experiences the first day of high school and Tom Foss breaks into the Trager home. What is that guy’s deal anyway?

The Closer (TNT): New. Parts of a porn star are found in a dumpster and the investigation leads to a group of 200 women who the victim may have exposed to HIV.

Saved (TNT): New. Sack is working two jobs and Wyatt tries to save a young woman in need of a liver transplant.

Other Options

  • Blade: The Series (Spike): Repeat. Last week’s episode “Bloodlines” replays.
  • Dark Angel (Sci Fi Channel): Repeats. Four more episodes of the series play tonight.
  • Eureka (USA): Repeat. The Sci Fi Channel original series gets a play on sister station USA as they repeat the two-hour pilot episode before WWE Monday Night RAW. It also plays on Sci Fi after the four episodes of Dark Angel tonight. The show was a bit slow paced but had some fun characters. It is like a science fiction version of Northern Exposure. Maybe now that they have set everything up in the opener the weekly episodes can move along a bit.
  • Falcon Beach (ABC Family): New. Erin is being blamed for the drowning and Tanya lets a truth about Jason’s father be known.
  • Last Comic Standing (Bravo): Repeat. Last Tuesday’s episode with the final five showing their best stuff replays.

Sports Notes

  • ESPN has Monday Night Baseball with the New York Yankees at the Texas Rangers.
