American Idol Poster - Simon Cowell, Ryan Seacrest, Randy Jackson and Paula AbdulI had no idea how brutal the Hollywood round was on American Idol. You wait in line for a couple of days. After a few pre-auditions you get into see the big three. You sing for them and walk out of the room with a golden ticket. That gets you into the Hollywood round where you get thirty seconds to show the judges you should get to stay. That is a pretty brutal process. If you don’t totally bring it right there and then you are on your way home. Sending the first six ladies home was quite away to start things off and they sure had a lot of females to send home considering it was like 2 to 1 women to men that made it to Hollywood. Is there anyone that was dismissed last night that you thought should still be there? Anyone that you saw that you can’t believe still is?

Prime Picks

Friday Night Lights (NBC): New. The black players who walked off practice in last week’s episode are refusing to play unless Mac is fired from his assistant coaching position. Julie gets in even more trouble with Tyra.

Criminal Minds (CBS): New. The BAU heads into an upper class part of New York City to find a serial killer who looks to be racially motivated.

Lost (ABC): New. Hurley wants to know what the deal is with Desmond and gets Charlie to help him find out. Last week’s episode replays right before this one.

Solid Selections

Bones (FOX): New. When Terrance Bancroft is found stabbed to death at his mansion the family calls the Jeffersonian to investigate while Agent Sullivan invites Dr. Brennan to one of his basketball games.

American Idol (FOX): New. The final 24 are chosen from the 40 that are left after last night’s episode. Will you favorite make it?

CSI: NY (CBS): New. When the only witness to a music moguls murder is also a prime suspect, the team has to figure out who is telling the truth.

Cable Choices

Psych (Sci Fi): Repeats. The USA Network original show gets a four-episode mini-marathon on the Sci Fi Channel tonight. This is one really fun show, which has really started to gel to together in the last few episodes. If you haven’t gotten a chance to check this show out after Monk on Friday nights, it is worth a look. The last of the four episodes tonight is the episode from last Friday, which had the guys working the defense in a court case instead of helping the cops as per usual.

Other Options

  • Dinner: Impossible (Food Network): New. A five-course meal for 160 train passengers is cooked.
  • Good Eats (Food Network): New. Alton lets you in on the difference between Cajun and Creole cooking.
  • Jericho (CBS): New. Recap show to get you caught back up or find out what you have missed in so far this season. New episodes begin next week. If a recap isn’t enough for you, you can watch all of the first eleven episodes at CBS’ Innertube streaming video player.
