AMC’s Breaking Bad Wants to Change the Equation

Next Sunday, January 20th, 2008, AMC debuts a new show, Breaking Bad. It stars Bryan Cranston (Malcolm in the Middle) as a high school chemistry teacher that has just received some bad news. It also stars Anna Gunn (Deadwood), as his wife, Aaron Paul, Dean Norris, Betsy Brandt, and newcomer RJ Mitte.

This is AMC’s second foray into scripted episodic television after the fall’s critically acclaimed Mad Men. AMC looks to be throwing their hat in the ring to become FX’s competition on regular cable for quality scripted dramas.
