Over on cable, BET has the three-hour BET Awards 08 special, BBC America has the first season finale of Not Going Out, and VH1 has the parts three and four of I Love the New Millennium. In Psych Set Visit news, I will be on the set of USA’s Psych today. Will have photos, interviews and more in the near future. Yesterday’s trip to watch them film a scene didn’t work out, but we got to have dinner with writer Tim Meltreger and two of the roller derby girls (women) from the episode they are filming this week. It will be the sixth episode of the upcoming third season and is titled “Talk Derby to Me.” It involves Juliet going undercover in the world of roller derby. Tim also wrote last season’s “Dis-Lodged.”

Prime Picks

NCIS (CBS): Repeat. The team is hunting a terrorist on the loose with some missing chemical weapons, in “Sharif Returns” from season four.

Reaper (The CW): Repeat. Sam is attracted to the Devil’s daughter, in “Ashes to Ashes.” Never really developed much of a liking for this show, but would rather watch it than the reality programming playing in this timeslot on the other networks. What about you? Are you looking forward to surviving a Japanese game show, checking out America’s talent or spending another night in the kitchen from hell?

Without a Trace (CBS): Repeat. A stuntman goes missing after completing a dangerous stunt, in “Crash and Burn” from season five.

Solid Selection

Celebrity Family Feud (NBC): Series Premiere. Ice-T (Law & Order: SVU) and his family take on Joan and Melissa Rivers and their family and then Raven-Symone (That’s So Raven, The Cosby Show) and her family go up against Wayne Newton and his family to win money for charity

America’s Got Talent (NBC): New. Two hours of performers trying to get a call back from the judges to the Vegas round.

Cable Choices

Good Eats (Food Network): Repeats. If you’ve ever wanted to know what types of things you can do with a tortilla, then Alton will help you out in these two repeats tonight. Both episodes play again later.

Big Break Ka’anapali (Golf Channel): New. It’s the “Be All End All,” as the competition is down to the final four. Plays again later.

The Office (TBS): Repeats. Michael tries to throw a party in his hotel room while at “The Convention” and then Dwight goes after Michael’s job at the behest of Angela in “The Coup.”

Other Options

  • Throwdown With Bobby Flay (Food Network): New. Bobby competes in an “Arepas” battle. Plays again later.

Sports Notes

  • ESPN has Game 2 of the NCAA World Series Championship.
  • ESPN2 has early round coverage of Day 2 from Wimbledon and later a WNBA game.

Late Night

  • My Boys (TBS & TNT): Repeat. Last Thursday’s episode, “Dinner Party,” replays. This was a great episode. Andy’s discussion with the two ladies about them being just the right amount of beautiful was outstanding.

TV Marathons

Oxygen has 10 episodes of Roseanne followed by nine hours of Tori & Dean episodes.
Sci Fi has eight episodes of John Doe early.
USA has 10 episodes of Law & Order: Criminal Intent followed by seven episodes of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
