Tonight is the Emmys. I never get too excited about these awards shows. All I know about this year’s contest is that Kyra Sedgwick should win for her character on The Closer on TNT. Other than that I don’t even know who is up for what really. In other tube news if you want to catch last week’s “Manhunt” episode of Prison Break or the pilot episode of Vanished they both play today on FX, appropriately between the movies The Rundown and The Missing. Prime Pick

The 58th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards (NBC): New. Awards for the best TV has to offer in comedy and drama and will be hosted by Conan O’Brien with a special memorial tribute to Aaron Spelling. Runs three hours give or take a half hour, mostly give I am sure.

Solid Selections

Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (ABC): Released 2003. Johnny Depp as Capt. Jack Sparrow in this rollicking movie inspired by the Disney Theme Park ride. Runs two hours.

Grey’s Anatomy (ABC): Repeat. Meredith and George are having a bit of trouble and Addison has a problem of her own.

Cable Choices

Three Moons Over Milford (ABC Family): New. Ed Begley Jr. guest stars as a man who gives enough money to rebuild the school but there are some strings attached.

The 4400 (USA): Season Finale. Who’s good? Who’s bad? Who knows as tonight Tom and Diana try to stop Collier from what he says will save the future. Runs 61 minutes. Also find the first eight episodes earlier in the day. This episode plays again later. The show has also been picked up for a fourth season.

The Dead Zone (USA): Season Finale. Johnny attempts to stop the vice president from being assassinated on a hunting trip. Plays again later.

Other Options

• Angela’s Eyes (Lifetime): New. Tonight they are searching for a virus that went missing from a lab. Also Angela’s brother pops back in with info on their parents.
• Cold Case (CBS): Repeat. A very good episode where a death row inmate who Jeffries help to put there asks for one more review of his case as he maintains his innocence.
• Deadwood (HBO): Season Finale. Actually it is the series finale as HBO has said there won’t be another season of the show. Tonight is the big vote.
• Entourage (HBO): Summer Season Finale. This is the last episode of the year but not of the third season. Tonight Ari tries to save The Ramones project while the guys contemplate their futures.
• Rescue Me (FX): Repeat. Last week’s episode “Hell” replays.

Sports Notes

• ABC has Little League World Series play with the World Championship.
• CBS has PGA Golf where Tiger goes into the final day in second place for a change of pace from recent tournaments.
• ESPN has the Little League World Series consolation game. Later find IndyCar Racing and Sunday Night Baseball with the Chicago Cubs at the St. Louis Cardinals.
• ESPN2 has LPGA Golf and later FIBA World Championship Basketball.
• NBC has coverage of the U.S. Amateur Championship golf tournament final round.

TV Show Marathons

USA replays the entire third season of The 4400 during the day to get you ready for tonight’s season finale.
TV Land is playing Daniel Boone all day.
