The Glock Will No Longer Rock on American Idol Season 6

Gina Glocksen got shown the door last night on the American Idol Top 9 Results Show. Season 6 continued with its wacky ways. Both the beauty and the beast were down in the bottom three with Gina. The problem was that Sanjaya Malakar should have been there instead. We did learn, however, that Sanjaya was in the middle three.

With Sanjaya in the middle three that means he is either fourth, fifth or sixth in the voting right now. I thought, last week, that he wouldn’t make the Top 6. Now I am not quite sure. Where do you think he falls in the voting? If he is sixth, then all of The Glock Flock needs to vote for anybody but Sanjaya, but really, they need to vote for either Phil or Haley to get their vote totals up higher the Sanjaya. If that happened he would be gone in a couple weeks. One can only hope.

While Sanjaya may be the worst that lasts the longest in the American Idol competition, it is not like this hasn’t happened before. John Stevens lasted weeks longer than he should have during the third season, but things finally caught up with him. I don’t think it will, ultimately, be any different here. With articles like, “Could this guy kill American Idol?,” even the press coverage was similar back then to what we are seeing and hearing now about Sanjaya.

The top three were Melinda Doolittle, LaKisha Jones and Jordin Sparks. The middle three consisted of Blake Lewis, Chris Richardson and Sanjaya. The bottom three was Haley Scarnato, Phil Stacey and Gina. If you were to flop Gina and Sanjaya, you would have a closer representation of how I would rank them up until now.

American Idol Season 6 – Top 8 Rankings:

  1. Melinda Doolittle – Easily the best singer in the competition and was in the Top 3.
  2. Jordin Sparks – Continues to get raves from the judges.
  3. LaKisha Jones – Was back to form just like Simon said.
  4. Blake Lewis – Still the strongest male left in the competition.
  5. Chris Richardson – Runs hot and cold, but I don’t particularly care for his sound.
  6. Haley Scarnato – Went back to the shake your assets routine from two weeks ago and it paid off once again.
  7. Phil Stacey – Can’t believe he wasn’t heading home instead of Gina.
  8. Sanjaya Malakar – Nothing left to be said, but next week the judges need to take the tact of frying him like they would any other poor performance, if his performance warrants it and we all know it will. The opposite tactic that Simon tried didn’t work, so just go back to telling it like it is.

How would you rank the remaining eight on American Idol Season 6?
